Google has added a new feature to its search engine, which will allow users to install apps featured in the search results on Android devices. The new search feature will make it easier for Android users to instantly install apps that they have searched for. This is an extension of the App Indexing feature Google launched in 2013, which allowed developers to list content from their apps on Google’s search engine.

Google Search App Install

If you will search for some content on Android, Google will prompt you to install apps related to what you’ve searched for. Buttons to install the applications will appear alongside links to normal web pages. Tapping on the buttons takes you to the Google Play Store and install your app, then continue on to the relevant article or content.

Previously, Google only displayed the options to open search results into apps that users had already installed on their devices. “With the addition of these install links, we are starting to use App Indexing as a ranking signal for all users on Android, regardless of whether they have your app installed or not. We hope that Search will now help you acquire new users, as well as re-engage your existing ones, ” posted Google in its Android developer blog.

Google has also said that with the new addition, App Indexing will be used to better rank search results on Android devices, regardless of whether the application is installed. The new feature will be rolled out to Android users later this month.
